The Metro Building is a flagship Category A office space in the heart of Hammersmith, an area long favoured by international corporate titans. GE, L’Oreal, Sony, and even Disney all have a presence in this prestigious district – attracted by its close proximity to Central London and excellent transport links to the rest of the country.
Thirdway Interiors worked with Integra to deliver a finished result that is truly stunning, a perfect fusion of form and function. The icing on the cake? The main works were completed on time and on budget. Even when the scope of the project was increased while works were already in progress, Integra’s fearless team were able to adapt to meet the increased demand. You can experience a 3D “virtual tour” of the finished result without having to leave your desk – ‘walk’ through, use your mouse to spin the camera round and up, and admire the details to your heart’s content!

This Cat A fit out of the 3rd floor Metro Building, London W6 was completed on time and on budget. The raw clay ceiling is complemented by the industrial-themed design of the lighting and ventilation. The scope of this project included stripping out all services to an existing partly-cellularised office space and the full design installation of new exposed services in an open-plan arrangement. The toilets and shower facilities were also completely refurbished to complete this stunning transformation.
The key challenge was to provide an M&E design that would complement the architect’s concept to provide a Cat A scheme that would attract high-profile tenants in this prestigious location. Projects with exposed services such as this one require a very high level of coordination between teams.
The rugged, highly functional aesthetics of the finished work leave nothing to chance. With air conditioning, ventilation, and electrical services fully visible, it is an unforgiving yet highly rewarding task to complete.
